Depachika
are the basement food floors of department stores. If you're interested
in purchasing any of the ingredients listed above, depachika are good places to
look. It's difficult to believe the variety of food on display there. Several
of Kyoto's largest department stores, including Daimaru, Takashimaya, Hankyu
and Isetan are located near the intersection of Shijo-dori and
Kawaramachi-dori.
