Spring Geiko (Geisha) Dance Performance
The Geiko (Geisha) and Maiko (apprentice Geisha) still carry out their traditional annual dances during the height of the cherry blossom season throughout the month of April. The most popular of these dances are the Miyako Odori "Cherry Blossom Dances" and "Dances of the Old Capital." Spectators flock from all across Japan and the world to attend the event. Gion District Geisha prefer to be called Geiko, which means a woman skilled in dance and music.

"The Special Class Ticket Package" priced at 4,500 yen includes a small tea ceremony presented by Geiko prior to the performance. This package also includes a beautiful souvenir dish and a reserved seat either on the first or second floor.
"1st Class Tickets" are priced at 4,000 yen each. The second floor reserved seats provide an excellent view of the entire stage in all its dimensions. There is a choice of Western-style seating or Japanese-style seating on tatami-mats located on the wings where shoes are to be removed.
"2nd Class Tickets" are priced at a reasonable 2,000 yen. From these third floor seats you can survey every nook and cranny of the stage. These Japanese-style tatami mat seats do not require a reservation and are very popular as they are designed for last-minute visitors.
You can purchase any of the above tickets on the day of the performance. However, we recommend making a reservation in advance since this is the busy tourist season. To make a reservation, call us at (81-75-541-3391) or send a fax to (81-75-525-3105).
Alternatively, ask the staff at your hotel or inn to make a reservation for you. Please be sure to inform the staff of the date, number of people, and type of ticket you would like.
