Sumiya Ryokan 【Central Area】
The Sumiya Ryokan, founded over 100 years ago, is conveniently located near Kiyomizu Temple, the Gion, and Yasaka Shrine. The owners are tea-ceremony aficionados and offer guests an opportunity to participate in the ceremony free of charge on the evening of the 7th and 17th of each month.
The traditional Kyoto-style cuisine it serves is one of the points of pride of this ryokan. A range of seasonal dishes including wild duck, freshwater fish, matsutake mushrooms are offered in addition to more exotic treats as well.
