Kiyomizu-dera Temple Illumination
As autumn reaches full swing, Kiyomizu-dera Temple appears to be held in the embrace of the vivid autumn foliage. During this period in which the temple is given this beautiful splash of color, a special night time illumination is held within the grounds. Flooded with light and color, the temple grounds reveal to visitors a beauty that cannot be seen anywhere else.
On your visit, be sure not to miss the "Moon Garden", Joju-in Teien, which is specially opened to the public during this period. Built in the early Edo period, Joju-in Teien is a famous garden that features an ornamental pond and 'borrowed' scenery.
