Kyoto Travel Guide

The stock photographs that the Committee to Invite Influential Oversea Press and Other Related Parties to Kyoto (referred to below as the Committee) controls are for use only by those who agree to the following rules:

1. Usage of Photographs
   • Use of the photos that the Committee controls is permissible when for the purpose of introducing Kyoto or Japan via magazines, newspapers, websites or other media.
   • This image collection is intended to for the transmission of information overseas. Domestic Japanese use is not allowed.
2. Method of Usage
   • The user must register the necessary items in the method that the Committee specifies.
   • The Committee can change the terms of use according to necessity without the advance consent of the user.
   • The user is responsible for managing and safeguarding his or her own account password, and may not transfer, loan, or allow its use by a third party via any other method.
   • In the event that the user suffers damage from the use of his or her password or ID by a third party, the Committee is not responsible, regardless of whether or not the user was at fault.
   • If there is a change in the address, telephone number, or other contents sent to the Committee, the user agrees to promptly notify the Committee.
3. Cancellation
   • The Committee may cancel the user’s account without advance notice in any of the following cases:
     • There were false contents in any of the statements to the Committee.
     • The user violates these terms of use.
     • The Committee decided that the user has acted inappropriately.
4. Forbidden Uses
   • Even in the case that the User has registered properly via the designated methods, the following uses are forbidden.
     • Using the images in conjunction with pornographic, slanderous, illegal, or immoral contents

     • Using the photographs in whole or part as elements of a trademark or logo
     • Attaching an explanation to the photos that differs from their contents.
     • Using the photographs for the purpose of sales
5. Copyright
   • All rights are reserved by the Committee or those who provide the photographs to the Committee.
6. Exemptions from Responsibility
   • The Committee takes no responsibility for losses or debts that result from using these photographs for any purpose apart from that agreed on by the Committee in these terms of use.
   • The Committee takes no responsibility for the contents of products sent or offered by the user that were produced by using the Committee’s materials.
   • Regarding information that the user sends or offers in materials produced by the user using the Committee’s contents, in the case that a dispute arises between the user and a third party, or in the event that the user inflicts damage on a third party, said user will with his or her own expenses and responsibility resolve every conflict or pay reparations.
   • The Committee takes no responsibility for any type of damage that results from the use of this site, including but not limited to direct, indirect, incidental, punitive, or inevitable damages.
7. Other
   • Regarding the approval, validity, or interpretation of these rules, the laws of Japan shall apply.
   • Regarding the usage of the photos that this Committee offers, in the event that there is a problem between this Committee and the User, both parties agree to consult in good faith. In the event that despite efforts to consult on the matter there is no resolution, the parties will use the Kyoto District Court exclusively.
